Police have charged Alexandra Pennell, an openly gay 19-year-old student at Central Connecticut State University with eight felony counts of fabricating evidence, eight misdemeanor charges of lying to police, eight misdemeanor counts of filing a false police report and one count of making a false statement to police, after they discovered the source of anti-gay notes that allegedly had been left for her by an unknown perpetrator.
It turns out she'd been writing the notes herself as a cry for attention.

Well this is an unfortunate fall from grace.
Former Sheriff Patrick Sullivan Jr., who was arrested in Nov. 2011 after being caught in a sting operation trading methamphetamine for sex with a gay male prostitute, accepted a plea deal and has been sentenced.

Uganda Texas Republicans are certainly a (insert your favorite adjective here)-breed like no other, and remind us just how shrewd the group is in the state's GOP policy-advocating outline for the next two years, released today.
Sure, they hope to outlaw strip-clubs, sex shops and the sale of pornography by 2012, as well as want Texas to allow for unprecedented access to oil and gas drilling. But the real clincher in the GOP's policy outline includes making it a FELONY for anyone to perform a civil ceremony of a same-sex couple.
The language in this disgusting advocacy is as full of vitriol and prejudice as the ambitious legislation:

Rumors that MTV pulled ads from Perez Hilton's gossip blog have been confirmed as untrue, but today ABC Daytime confirmed that it will no longer advertise The View on the website in the aftermath of the Miley-Cyrus-crotchshot saga. Analysts expect other advertisers to follow suit and pull out of Perez.
A source tells MSNBC, "It’s not a matter of whether you like (Lavandeira) or not, it has to do with the morality of the issue. Miley is a minor, period. There are ethics involved in running an ad on a site that potentially violated the rights of a minor, and that is what the conversation is about at the network level."
