Ahead of the UFC's first openly gay fighter's inaugural bash (no pun intended), UFC President Dana White hopes to clear the air about his homophobic reputation. The UFC has been slowly moving toward an inclusive environment in the past year, with a gay-for-pay porn actor competing on its reality show and President Dana white giving his anti-gay reputation a makeover. This week, however, the UFC has finally marked a bold step forward toward full LGBT-friendliness by signing its first ever openly gay fighter. 

Two Arizona high school students had a choice between two punishments after fighting in school. They could both be suspended or they could be publicly humiliated by being forced to hold hands while sitting next to each other in the school courtyard. 

The students chose the latter, but was the punishment effective? And what message is it sending?

Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White has been hounded by accusations of homophobia for years--and not without reason. White famously recorded a video blog back in 2009 targeting reporter Loretta Hunt with both anti-gay slurs and misogynistic vitriol.

He didn't help his case during "speedo-gate" when he had a bit of a freakout when one of his fighters performed in a speedo (a big "no no" in the macho UFC world). 

Still, White believes he's been misrepresented and even went so far as to encourage gay UFC fighters to come out back in Oct. 2011.
