USC is hosting The 6th Annual Don Thompson LGBT Film Festival on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The festival showcases the short films of USC students and alumni that are about, of interest to, or made by gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or intersex people.

Who knows, you could be seeing the next Ira Sachs or Patrik-Ian Polk before they get all famous!

We have movies on our mind today! While we looked back at the best movies of the year in today's Top 10 countdown, the Palm Springs International Film Festival (kicking off Thursday, January 3) has us looking forward to the movies we'll be buzzing about in 2013. 

Our eyes were wide open (though not in the fun Stanley Kubrick/Tom Cruise kind of way) throughout 2012 thanks to a year that was absolutely teeming with queer cinema. Whether it was on screens at film festivals, in indie theaters or in IMAX across the country, movies playing in every niche this year seemed to serve up some LGBT realness. Once again, Instinct's here to help distill an overwhelming amount of pop culture into a handy guide to the 2012 zeitgeist. 

The Oscars may have bitches starving themselves to get their hands around a trophy and the Golden Globes might command love letter campaigns addressed to members of the Hollywood Foreign Press, but there isn't a movie prize quite as coveted as landing on our annual Top 10...

It's been a rough year for a porn community and fans who are once again receiving sad news about the death of a cherished actor. Josh Weston, age 39, has passed away due to complications related to HIV.

We're totally, like, not old enough to have seriously memorized the entire script of Clueless when it originally changed pop culture 17 years ago, but we can still way appreciate the cast reuniting for Good Morning Americaon Friday. Whatever. We totally didn't squeal or anything when we saw the cast of the Mean Girls prequel looking ferosh nearly two decades after they came into our our grandparents lives!

Neat trick: speaking in '90s Clueless style can serve as a sobering reminder of one's true age!

Tatum's made no secret about his desire to give the world another chapter of the Magic Mike saga, and it sounds like things are taking shape!

As long as that shape includes Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer we're good.

The Academy Awards, Tony's, Emmy's and Golden Globes are often referred to as the gayest awards shows in existence. But they got nothin' on L.A.'s annual Outfest LGBT Film Festival, which announced its 2012 award winners over the weekend. Check out which LGBT films walked away with the coveted prizes after the jump!

Focus Features, the company that was honored earlier this year by the Point Foundation (the nation's largest merit-based scholarship organization for LGBT students), has once again shown their love for the gays. 

Focus announced that in celebration of their 10 year anniversary, they'll be launching "Ten Years Of Celebrating Pride" by releasing their collection of LGBT films.
