Anti-gay hate group Focus on the Family has been implicitly teaching bullies that beating up gay kids is cool with god for years. But this year's preparation for its annual "Day of Dialogue" (that coincides and contradicts GLSEN's yearly anti-bullying event, "Day of Silence") takes FoF's pro-homophobia message even further.

We've gotta thank our friends at Huff Po for directing us to our biggest laugh of the day. The website Letters Of Note has unearthed an awesome piece of correspondence between ex-gay former Focus On The Family member, Mike Haley and Will & Grace Story Editor, Jon Kinnally.

In the June 2000 letter, Haley takes Kinally to task for an episode of Will & Grace that mocked the ex-gay movement (an ex-gay leader was memorably portrayed by Neil Patrick Harris).

Reminding us of just how disconnected from reality "ex gay" promoters truly are, Focus on the Family's Jeff Johnston reacted to the recent HRC study on LGBT youth by claiming that "praying the gay away" will save kids from depression and suicide. 

Colorado Springs-based Focus on the Family's attempt to give anti-gay bigots in the state a license to discriminate against gays in employment, housing and healthcare behind a shield of "religious convictions" has been withdrawn from the ballot in Colorado.

Given Tim Tebow's pop-culture domination (with Tebowing finding followers in both the English language and high school students across the country), and given the pious quarterback's association with anti-gay hate groups, it seems like a good idea to ask that his Denver Broncos create an "It Gets Better" video. A Change.org user agrees and has launched a petition already signed by thousands of folks hoping the Broncos will speak out for LGBTQ youth. Details follow.
