Well we can't say she isn't trying. 

Lady Gaga released the high concept short film, Fame, directed by Steven Klein in promotion of her fragrance "Fame." She's serving up all sorts of Dadaist, surrealist imagery and we won't claim to be able to make sense of much of it, but it's arguably ambitious.

Also, has anyone smelled "Fame"? We ask because according to Gaga it has notes of blood and semen in it. Not a combo we're particularly into, but your opinions may vary. She's claiming the blood is hers--no word yet on the semen source.

The Haus of Gaga takes you into the depths of Haus Laboratories for this latest ad tracing the formulation of Mother Monster's fragrance, "Fame."

Her shirtless lab techs certainly seem to be earning their dollars. (We're told that no shirtless models were injured in the making of this perfume.)

Surprisingly, Gaga doesn't make an appearance in the clip. We're sure she'll remedy that in upcoming spots.

Clearly not content with his True Blood co-star Joe Manganiello getting all of our attention (Thank you, Magic Mike), Alexander Skarsgard has signed on as the face of Calvin Klein's new fragrance, "Encounter."

Funny, that's what we pray for every time we see Mr. Skarsgard. A very naked, very close encounter.

We’re not sure what marriage smells like, but apparently the Manhattan based perfumery, Bond No. 9, has bottled it up and will have you smelling like same-sex matrimonial bliss.

The new scent, I LOVE NEW YORK for Marriage Equality, will start flying off the shelves in July.

We've been dying to get into David Beckham's undies for some time now. Looks like we might not have to wait much longer!

One of the many paths to our cold, dead hearts is through our nose. David Beckham is sure capitlizing on the real estate he holds in our tickers with the release of his signature fragrance, Homme. If it weren’t for the handfuls of fifty-five-year-olds with A&F in their Gay.com screen names, I wouldn’t have any idea that the casual retailer made it past 2003. But in the effort of remaining relevant and reminding the gays of its existence, A&F has filed a preemptive lawsuit against Beyonce.

According to an earlier announcement, the singer plans to release a fragrance in the vein of Sasha Fierce, which Abercrombie believes would confuse consumers due to its longtime scent, Fierce.

The lawsuit was filed Tuesday and includes a cease-and-desist order. Sadly, girls and adoring gays won't be reeking of Sasha Fierce anytime soon.

Which brings me to the question, what would Sasha Fierce smell like?
