We think this ad for General Motors' Chevrolet Volt is really clever and fun—and we have to admit, we love being the targeted demographic for a car company!

And why wouldn't we be?

According to a recent marketing survey, "Gay and lesbian consumers prefer fuel-efficient cars, account for 5% of new car purchases and have average household income in the six figures -- more than that of heterosexual households."

No wonder auto companies are now actively courting us! We put out!

It published roundabout support (using Bible verses) for giving gays the death penalty and bluntly called our relationships "not normal," but Wichita East High School's editorial team has issued a rigorous defense of the horrifically homophobic story we told you about earlier this month in its paper, The Messenger.

Posted today on the newspaper's website:

First and foremost, we as a staff and a newspaper do not condemn LGBT students and relationships in any way. The assumption that the “Messenger” as a paper supports intolerance is simply untrue. The editorial was written from the perspective of one individual only, not written as a staff editorial. As stated in the “Messenger’s” editorial policy:
