Just in time to kickoff the new NFL season, Baltimore Raven Brendon Ayanbadejo has turned last week's highly publicized drama into an highly publicized effort to spread LGBT tolerance throughout his sport. A day after Maryland lawmaker Emmet Burns retracted his letter demanding sanctions against Brendon, the sports star appeared on CNN to increase the volume on his mission to achieve marriage equality for his LGBT friends.

In another free-speech ruling issued this week in favor of anti-gay sentiment, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeal has OK'd "Be Happy, Not Gay" t-shirts in the Indian Prairie School District. The school district brought the case to the court in the hopes of outlawing the homophobic slogans so that students' "feelings aren't hurt," but the appellate court has rejected their plea.

“A school that permits advocacy of the rights of homosexual students cannot be allowed to stifle criticism of homosexuality," writes the court. 

“The school argued (and still argues) that banning ‘Be Happy, Not Gay’ was just a matter of protecting the ‘rights’ of the students against whom derogatory comments are directed. But people in our society...

It published roundabout support (using Bible verses) for giving gays the death penalty and bluntly called our relationships "not normal," but Wichita East High School's editorial team has issued a rigorous defense of the horrifically homophobic story we told you about earlier this month in its paper, The Messenger.
