Electronic Arts hosted a conference this week in New York City detailing the current landscape of LGBT visibility in video games. While much work still needs to be done to present a more diverse spectrum of characters in the billion-dollar industry, EA deserves a pat on its own back for its use of same-sex love and attraction in many of its recent titles. 

"Hate Is Not A Game," a video shown at this week's event, is like a veritable parade detailing EA's gay pride. Check it out after the break. 

We love that Kelly Clarkson just gets it when it comes to a duet! She's clearly confident enough in her vocals that she doesn't feel the need to compete or overpower those that she's singing with and as a result both performances get elevated.

We had high hopes for Matthew Mitcham to take gold in the 10m diving competition closing out the London Olympics this weekend (and not just because of his promise to dive naked). The guy's charming, a great international ambassador for the LGBT community and just plain talented. When things didn't quite work out the way we all had hoped on Saturday, gay diving fans across the world tossed on their Vera Wang veils and held memorials for what Matthew said would be the end of his career. 

But according to an interview on his way out of London, it looks like we can put out the candles and start looking forward to Rio's Summer Games in four years because Matthew may very well not retire!

Openly gay athletes hoping to take part in the 2014 Winter Games are getting mixed messages of support from their Russian hosts and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). After officials in Sochi, Russia defied the Olympic Charter to further the country's descent into anti-gay madness by banning Pride House, activists have started to demand intervention from the IOC. Australian Olympic trampolinist Ji Wallace, who took home the silver in the 2000 Sydney games, has come out as HIV positive while in London (though not competing this time around). Details follow.
