Jack Montgomery and his husband, Kelly Vielmo, adopted three siblings out of the Washington D.C. foster system.

It appears members of the Supreme Court aren't above stating outright lies.
Justice Antonin Scalia made the comment during Tuesday's Prop. 8 hearing that “there’s considerable disagreement among sociologists as to what the consequences of raising a child in a single-sex family, whether that is harmful to the child or not.”
Only that's not true. And considering he had an amicus brief submitted by the American Sociological Association (ASA) on that specific subject, he should have known better.

In the first study to compare and track the progress over time of high-risk children adopted out of foster care by gay, lesbian, and heterosexual couples, it's been found that children "adopted from foster care by gay parents fare equally in their cognitive and emotional development as those adopted by heterosexual parents."

This story, brought to our attention by our friends at Towleroad, warmed the cockles of our cold dark hearts!
These guys deserve a medal (or twelve)!!
Arizona gay couple, Steven and Roger Ham have legally adopted 12 children with an assist from a Washington state attorney. Considering we can't keep a cactus thriving, this is kind of a big deal.
