A gay man is recovering from an assault at the hands of four U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton that took place at the Silver Fox bar in Long Beach, California. 

"It's discrimination because gay people choose to be that way while bachelorettes have no choice in the matter!" The Abbey's policy change has officially seeped into the mainstream with Stephen Colbert putting his brilliant satirical spin on matters. Sometimes, on sadly unsuccessful nights, the only phallus we get shoved in our faces comes from drunk straight girls flaunting man-meat-shaped lollipops at bachelorette parties being thrown at West Hollywood's The Abbey. But the shrieking, penis-balloon-hat wearing girls will be a thing of the past now that The Abbey, often crowned the world's "best gay bar," has banned bachelorette parties.

Speaking of fainting (see previous post), the glittery gays of WeHo did just that on Wednesday night when none other than Robyn herself made an appearance at Stripper Circus at Here. Even our Abbey punch-card doesn't have as many holes as Elizabeth Taylor's. The legend simply adored the WeHo watering spot, frequenting it even more than Zac Efron! Is it just me or has the world of Xtranormal become really gay lately? (For those who have been living under a cock lately, Xtranormal is the Internet-sensation website that allows users to script videos acted out by cute cartoons.)

First, the Xtranormal circuit party parodies went viral; now a new creation attacking West Hollywood's The Abbey has caught attention. So the results are in and West Hollywood's Abbey has been voted the best gay bar in the world. MTV's Logo initiated the polling a few months back, but the WeHo hautespot easily beat out its competition in London, Rio, Amsterdam, Montreal and Chicago.

A new rule effective at an Elk Grove (a suburb of Chicago) gay bar possibly violates the Illinois Human Rights Act, says the state's ACLU.

After noticing Craig's List posts advertising prostitution at Hunters Nightclub, the venue's management has decided to only allow patrons entrance if their IDs match their genders. The move serves to offend the club's large trans clientele, a fact the management is aware of. For all those scratching their heads, Hunters also has a location in Palm Springs, though the rule isn't enforced there.
