You may have heard through the gayvine that we’re givers. It’s mostly false. But as far as this week's Swag Suite goes, we're giving big!

When it comes to some of our vay-gay-tions, there usually isn't much going down that we can share with mom in the form of a video uploaded to her Facebook page. Well, for starters, Madrid and New York! While our beloved NYC won top honor for the Best Global Destination, Madrid Pride won for Best Annual Gay Pride Destination (and judging by this photo, how could it now?! They even got Kylie to perform this past year!)

The awards given out by Logo's TripOutGayTravel.com were determined by site visitors and travel enthusiasts, with initial nominees selected by writers, editors and travel experts covering the LGBT travel market.

Other notable winners include Los Angele's The Abbey as the returning winner for Best Gay Bar In The World, and Rio's win as the Sexiest Place on Earth (no argument here!).

Trip Out Gay Travel announced nominations today for its “best of” awards. In the “Best Gay Bar” category, only two US venues received nods, including The Abbey here in SoCal (go team!), and Sidetrack in Chicago. Is it a sign that I’ve done too many U.S.GAY bar tours if I think there are at least a dozen others that should be brushing shoulders on the list of finalists?

Another curiosity of the nominations is LA’s absence from the top six gay travel destinations. Portland, OR even beat out the City of Angels, which I guess I previously thought was as much of a gay magnet as Reichen Lehmkuhl.

You can read the full list of Trip Out Gay Travel Awards nominees and vote here.

What do you think about the finalists?
