One of NBC's biggest fall endeavors, The New Normal, has hit us with a one-two punch over the past week.

First of all, the debut cast photo featuring a pregnant Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon), a pregnant Justin Bartha (The Hangover) and a pregnant Georgia King (Skins) gave us odd cravings for pickles and peanut butter with all the hormonal realness; today, NBC released the first teaser clip for the show following a gay couple's journey with surrogacy and made us tear-up a bit with its romantic moments. The hormones of it all!

Spring has sprung.

You know what that means: it's that time of year again when headlines are consumed with unfortunate stories of high schools and their anti-gay prom issues. The first big gay prom story of the year involves a straight student who just wanted to make his school's event more inclusive. In the latest and greatest piece of pro-home schooling propaganda that we’ve seen, Georgia teacher Tanya Ditty, hereafter known as "T-Ditty," let loose on those dirty dirty homosexuals during a Georgia House subcommittee hearing.

We've all had that fantasy, right? Well, we get to live it every Saturday night, because we are always the belles of the ball when we hit the town (don't hate, bitches). But similar to the Facebook and Twitter explosion of false reports about Prop 8 being overturned in California late last Thursday and through this weekend, a new headline has been making the rounds as it's being spread throughout the blogosphere, Twittersphere and Facebooksphere. And this one has many calling foul.

By drafting new homophobic rules for its faculty, Shorter University, a Southern Baptist college in Georgia, has effectively banned gay employees. Details follow.

Georgia State Rep. Rashad Taylor becomes the state's third openly-gay lawmaker after being outed by a series of controversial emails. Read a statement Rep. Taylor just released on the matter after the jump.

Never would we have guessed that the words a man of the law lives by—"to protect and serve"— would include forcing citizens into medically-disproved and dangerous "ex-gay" therapy. But according to Amanda Booker, a Bartow County Sheriff's Department in Georgia did just that as one of its lieutenants forced her into evangelical "pray the gay away" treatment. Now she's suing.

A Georgetown, GA man became so enraged by the man-on-man kiss between Jimmy Kimmel and Charlie Sheen that he pointed a gun at his girlfriend and a 14-year old! What the what?!

House of Mercy, a homeless shelter in Columbus, Georgia, showed no mercy to two women fleeing violent homes last week when it kicked them out for suspecting they were gay. Elder Bobby Harris, the shelter's director, said that he kicked the victimized women out and will ban all LGBT homeless people from the House of Mercy 'because of the Bible' and children.

"[Homosexuality] is not tolerated here at all. Let me tell you one reason why: because of the Bible, of course. And then we have little children," Harris told the local CBS affiliate. "We believe that Christ can change all. But when they begin to practice their acts...
