(Ex?) Spice Girl Mel B. presented the GLAAD Media Award to Adam Lambert this weekend at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards Gala in San Francisco.

Bret Easton Ellis spent a large part of the weekend doing what he seems to do best lately: complaining on Twitter. This time around it's not Glee or HIV positive gay men he's roughing up, it's GLAAD. 

According to the openly gay author, GLAAD banned him from attending its annual Media Awards on Saturday. Then, he goes on to claim, they asked that he keep the story private and not tweet about it. 

But GLAAD fired back with its version of events. 

President Bill Clinton was honored by GLAAD with the Advocate for Change award last night at the star studded GLAAD Media Awards Gala in Los Angeles. 

The decision to honor Clinton was met with controversy based on his role in the passage of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which was clearly on the minds of many in attendance.

Well at least GLAAD won't have to pay for travel!

The San Francisco Giants will be honored at the GLAAD Media Awards on May 11 in San Francisco. 

The Giants will be receiving the Corporate Leader Award, which is presented to companies or organizations that have demonstrated a stalwart commitment to building support for equality.

The 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which are getting some mixed coverage at the moment based on GLAAD's decision to honor President Bill Clinton in spite of his role in DOMA, is certainly turning up the star power!

Drew Barrymore is now slated to host and even more high profile celebs are signed on as presenters and attendees. Oh and one Miss Kelly Rowland will take the stage with a perfomance.

Bill Clinton will receive GLAAD's first Advocate for Change Award (headscratcher, anyone?) at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles at the JW Marriott on April 20, 2013.

Entertainment attorney Steve Warren will also be honored with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) took aim at the New York Post for its coverage of the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards in New York City--an event that the Post was actually banned from attending based on their offensive transgender coverage in the past.

It looks like GLAAD wants to get in on that action as well because they've decided to honor Anderson with their prestigious Vito Russo Award!

The GLAAD Media Awards, arguably the gayest annual awards ceremony (sorry, Tony Awards!), welcomed a new class of nominees this morning. Which stars of pop-culture and media will vie for the honors in March (New York), April (L.A.) and May (S.F.)?
