MSNBC booked Maggie Gallagher in the correct studio today, allowing for a full on head-to-head heavyweight match between NOM's most outspoken chair and Fred Karger, the openly gay former GOP presidential candidate whose lawsuit helped move the homophobic organization's internal Maine memos into the public arena.

Newt Gingrich was heckled by gay activists of the Minnesota-based Gliterrati during a campaign stop in Minneapolis. Unfortunately, the crowd quickly turned on the LGBT high school student activists, drowning them out in a chorus of boos before their messages were acknowledged by the faltering GOP candidate. Poor Rick Perry. He comes out with a heartfelt campaign video blaming the coming fall of the country on gay American soldiers and now no one—not even a crowd of "supporters" at an Ames, Iowa rally—will let him be! With the GOP's attention shining on him like a spotlight, candidate Herman Cain's hindsight has become 20/20. After (surprisingly) winning the Florida straw poll, Cain has decided to take stock of the past month. First on the agenda? Finally getting around to condemning the disgraceful and unpatriotic booing of the gay American soldier that took place on his (and the handful of other GOP candidates') watch. 

Somebody get Rick Santorum a dictionary! Stat! First, he accused the gay community of a "jihad" against him (even though he is the one waging a holy war against the LGBT); now, he's saying that criticisms of his intense promotion of discrimination against a segment of the American people amounts to "an act of bigotry." Grab the Platinum Wet—you'll need it to lube up the eye sockets for the epic amount of eye-rolling available after the jump.

Chris Cilliza, our MSNBC crush and author of WaPo's The Fix column, has raised a great point about the 2012 GOP presidential candidates: if they want to kiss the KFC-filled asses of the Tea Party, they need to start picking between states rights or a federal amendment banning marriage equality. They can't have their tea and drink it too. 

Jihad? Last time we checked, Rick Santorum was the one engaging in a religious war against us. Don't let factual word definitions, logic or the good American values of equality and freedom get in the way of the frothy mix GOP presidential candidate getting it backwards, however. Rick Perry, the current GOP presidential front-runner, has just added his ink to the National Organization for Marriage's hateful, bigoted pledge, meaning he promises to fight against the American value of equality should he become president. Details follow.

There might rest a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow fling for those "young hotties" who may have had gay sex with GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry. Published today in the Austin Chronicle is an ad from a group called Committee Against Sexual Hypocrisy (CASH), which appears to be looking to expose the Texas governor as a hypcorite...and self-loathing homosexual.
