A big shakeup at homocon group GOProud has been announced today: co-founders Jimmy LaSalvia and Chris Barron are stepping down as heads of the organization.

GOProud's former vice chairman Bruce Carroll has decided not to run to unseat South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Bruce Carroll, the founder of the gay Republian group GOProud, has announced his resignation as vice chairman of the organization. 

Why?

He's considering a primary challenge against South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham in 2014.

Despite clear evidence that the tides are turning across America in support of the LGBT community, the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) has made one thing clear: "You can't sit with us."

That's basically the message they've sent to gay conservative groups, GOProud and the Log Cabin Republicans who, once again, aren't invited to attend the big party.

Gay conservative group GOProud has made a big announcement this morning, one that many will be surprised to hear the group didn't make years ago. Details follow. 

After endorsing a presidential ticket (and dozens of other candidates) that promised a constitutional amendment banning marriage equality, "LGBT" group GOProud has suddenly undergone major heart surgery to finally support the civil rights issue.

My, what could've happened to spark such an about face?

Oh yea, that whole election landslide thing. 

A gay Republican got some phone time with Rush Limbaugh today and it's more than a little painful. (GOProud was no doubt thrilled.)

The Log Cabin Republicans were thrown into a tizzy last week when, during the Democratic National Convention) Rep. Barney Frank compared them to "Uncle Tom" for their seemingly unending support of anti-LGBT Republican candidates. (Check out the LCR's not-so-happy response to that, here.)

Apparently, Barney has run out of f**ks to give, because he's not backing down from his statements against the GOP's dominant LGBT group. 

Oh no, today Barney had much more to say on the topic. You may want to pop some popcorn, because he's not playing.

GOProud head Jimmy LaSalvia explained away yesterday's RNC PR disaster by saying that gays are shallow and care more about dating rich men than their own civil rights. Or something.  

While ogling hot go-go boys wearing skimpy, belly-baring GOProud-branded apparel, members of the homocon group danced away the first night of the Republican National Convention at Tampa's Honey Pot nightclub. But it was what GOProuders were willing to admit that was truly revealing. 

When faced with a non-homophobic actual LGBT person to endorse in the race for a Wisconsin Senate seat, GOProud, a supposedly gay organization, has officially said, "No thank, you. Give us the straight, white, homophobe, please."

So, what does GOProud have to say about giving the finger to the openly gay Tammy Baldwin and endorsing former Gov. Tommy Thompson for Senate?
