Who would've imagined that Congress would be the showdown venue for more fashion related drama than Project Runway All Stars? Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has invoked a grand ol' American tradition—burning things—the way of Ralph Lauren's China-made U.S. Olympics Team outfits (which feature the iconic American headpiece: the beret).

Updated Thursday, December 23, 10:30 a.m. EST to include video

Is there a more symbolic picture of DADT's repeal than the return of Lt. Dan Choi's West Point ring?

Lt. Choi, who was released from a New England hospital over the weekend after suffering a breakdown, gave Senator Harry Reid the ring earlier this year as inspiration to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Sen. Reid made a proposal that day to repeal, pledging not to return the ring until the act was done. Today, a beaming Lt. Dan Choi got his ring back. He just Tweeted this picture.

Follow the jump for a picture of Reid returning the ring.

In an editorial penned for the Huffington Post, Paul Rieckhoff, founder and executive director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, employs a military term to describe the failure of the Senate to repeal DADT last week: FUBAR. After that quick dramatic intro, Rieckhoff continues his blunt editorial to lambast Senator Harry Reid for failing to invoke leadership, and reminds us of all those other important items attached to the Defense Authorization Act that we should be upset about losing, too (like mental health support for soldiers). You can read the blood-boiling great piece in full here and check out a highlight below.

"Make no mistake, Senator Reid is very much to blame. He’s been calling the shots from the start. He charted...

It was suspected and blindly reported earlier in the day, but Senator Harry Reid has just come out saying that he will likely bring up a vote on the Defense Authorization Act (which includes DADT repeal language) TONIGHT in the Senate! Stay tuned for more details.

Sorry to mess up your Monday with bad news, but most analysts are officially calling Don't Ask, Don't Tell repeal DEAD. Barring any Christmas miracle, discrimination will continue to reign in the military.

How'd this happen?

Early Monday morning, Senate majority leader Harry Reid outlined his chamber of Congress's end-of-year calendar. Despite the high-priced, comprehensive and much-lauded Pentagon report (and the resulting hearings) last week, the Senate calendar DOES NOT include the Defense Authorization Bill, or DADT repeal.

When asked where it was in the calender, Sen. Reid responded, "Oh yeah. That."

Because of this gross oversight and actually-shocking negligence by Congress, chance for DADT repeal anytime after the ...

Lt. Dan Choi, who is making DADT protest rounds in Washington today with other members of GetEQUAL, just left Senator Harry Reid's office with unsurprising but still-disappointing news:

If she can pull of slowly-spoiling meat, Lady Gaga can surely pull of an aging Senator mask, right? The creative folks over at the Family Research Council seem to think so, mashing the two outspoken personalities in an attempt to protest their renewed cry for DADT repeal.

Seems that after Lady Gaga brought a few discharged soldiers to the VMAs on Sunday, Sen. Harry Reid has been tweeting her to build momentum for this week's expected vote on DADT repeal. The FRC isn't too happy about the partnership, first with its blog post "Outgoing Majority Leader Harry Reid's Lousy Poker Face," and then by posting this video of Senator Inhofe revealing on the floor that he's just a plain and simple bigot who doesn't want us gays infecting straight troops...

Senator Harry Reid, the highest-elected Mormon in the US government, allegedly blasted his church's involvement in Prop 8 and the marriage equality movement, reports The Salt Lake Tribune.

During a meeting with organizers of the National Equality March, Reid reportedly brought up the Mormon connection to anti-equality. According to outreach director for the NEM, Derek Washington, Reid said that he found the Church's involvement to be a "waste of church resources and good will" and "didn't think it was appropriate."

Robin McGhee, who attended the meeting, expands on Reid's reported discontent with the LDS. "He personally said they needed to be focused on other things," she said. "He felt it was harmful for the church to focus on such a divisive...
