University of Houston-Downtown junior Kristopher Sharp has become the victim of a brutal smear campaign of sorts, after flyers warning the student body not to support his run for president out of fear of AIDS and the “homosexual agenda” were put up around campus. The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has approved the the HIV Organ Policy Equity (HOPE) Act. The bipartisan bill would lift a federal ban on the donation of HIV-positive organs to HIV-positive recipients.
