Claiming it does nothing but advance the "pro-homosexual agenda," anti-gay Republicans backed by certified hate-group the Illinois Family Institute voted down a comprehensive anti-bullying bill in the state. 

The Illinois Family Institute -- a SPLC-certified hate-group and former home of the incredibly anti-gay Peter LaBarbera -- has used the holiday issued in honor of the nation's best-known civil rights leader to attack a minority group. 

Laurie Higgins, the group's president, writes in a statement:

Homosexualist organizations have one goal that reigns supreme over all others: the eradication of the true moral belief that homosexual acts are profoundly immoral. And they are willing to exploit the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement in order to achieve their morally dubious and intellectually vacuous goal.
