A California father isn't thrilled with the legislation that requires schools to include the accomplishments of the LGBT community in their curriculum.

In fact, he's planning to speak to the school board of the Capistrano Unified School District on Monday about the "re-education camps" this new legislation is supposedly creating.

The California Court of Appeals just got its first openly gay justice!

Governor Jerry Brown made this historic appointment on Wednesday and gave us even more to be thankful for when he appointed a lesbian attorney to a court seat in San Diego County.

It's a quack attack! We've used so-called twice in a headline because we've deemed it more than necessary. These quacks told us they were ready to get their "sue" on. And now the so-called (there's that word again) ex-gay therapists are taking their battle to court. Seems like it'd be more suited for Judge Judy (no offense, Judes!), but this is laughable.

While we're thrilled the Gov. Jerry Brown stepped up to the plate and banned ex-gay therapy for minors in California, there are those that aren't so thrilled.

They're actually so upset that they're planning to sue in federal court to get reparative therapy legalized in the state.

With a Sunday night deadline looming, Gov. Jerry Brown did the right thing for LGBT youth and signed SB 1172 making California the first state in the country to ban ex-gay/reparative therapy for minors.

We admit, we didn't actually know this was an issue, but we're thrilled that Equality California and the National Center for Lesbian Rights worked hard to bring attention to it.
 
Today, California Gov. Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill 2356, will ensure that women in same-sex relationships and single women can access fertility services on the same terms as women in heterosexual relationships.

Huge news for LGBT veterans in California who were discharged from the military as a result of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT)!

Today, Governor Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill 1505, authored by Assemblymember Richard Pan and co-sponsored by Equality California and Sacramento Valley Veterans, which designed to remedy inequities faced by veterans discharged under DADT and its predecessor policies.
