The journey of I Love You Phillip Morris from Sundance to the big screen might itself be more dramatic than any film released in 2010, but the drama has ended as the Jim Carrey/Ewan McGregor gay love flick finds a buyer and a new, finalized release date: December 3.
Reports Deadline:
Roadside Attractions and Liddell Entertainment have acquired U.S. and Canadian rights to I Love You Phillip Morris. It ws originally slated for a March release, then bumpbed to late-April. Now the gay Bonnie & Clyde-style pic I Love You Phillip Morris starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor has been delayed... indefinitely.
Though it premiered at Sundance in 2009 to critical acclaim, the fate of the film about a gay inmate falling in love with his prison cell mate is unkown. Yesterday a spokeswoman announced the April 30th release was canned and no new date has been put in place.
Is it money? Is it the gay love plot between characters portrayed by high-profile stars? Is it just plain bad?
What do you think the reason is behind I Love You, Phillip Morris being shelved indefinitely?

To celebrate (and possibly plug their gay-themed feature before it goes in wide release), the two shared a not-very-French kiss.
