Piers Morgan got triple-teamed by Sen. John McCain (AZ), Sen. Joe Lieberman (CT), and Sen. Lindsey Graham (SC) in a debate on same-sex marriage and whether or not it should be regulated by the federal government.
We'd say he handled himself pretty well. (Apologies for the triple-teaming imagery. There's not enough brain bleach in the world.)
Watch after the jump!

A sexist joke made by New York Magazine's John Heilemann at the expense of GOP Senator Lindsey Graham was mysteriously absent from a re-airing of MSNBC's Morning Joe this week. More after the jump.

The Hill is reporting that Sen. John McCain has pledged to do 'whatever he could to help implement the policy's repeal,' indicating a complete reversal of policy on Don't Ask, Don't Tell from the extinguished discriminatory law's most ardent ally.
McCain went on to say:
"I think I have to do everything I can to make sure that the important moral, retention, recruitment, and battle effectiveness of the military is minimized as much as possible," McCain said on Fox Business. "It is a law and I have to do whatever I can to help the men and women who are serving particularly in combat cope with this new situation. I will do everything I can to make it work."
It's nice that he's finally come around but will history -- and the gay community... FULL STORY

A new poll from the Washington Post and ABC shows that 77 percent of Americans support letting openly LGBT soldiers serve in the military. The number is the largest yet show of support in a DADT poll, and even includes a majority of Republicans and conservatives (as well as Democrats, Independents and liberals). Moreover, the new poll finds that a majority of white evangelicals support repeal of DADT.
How can Sen. John McCain be so out of step with the people he works for? Should he continue to fight tooth and nail fang and hoof against the timely, ordered repeal of DADT that is called for in the Senate bill, it'll only be a matter of time before courts do what is Constitutionally sound, and repeal the ban in a more chaotic fashion... The soundbytes from today's Senate hearing on DADT that you'll most likely be subjected to all weekend unfortunately come from those who support discrimination. Army Chief of Staff General George Casey and Marine Corps. Commandant Gen. James Amos helped fuel Sen. McCain's bigoted push for continued anti-gay practices in the military by telling the Senate panel that DADT repeal shouldn't be considered until 2012.
Said Gen. Casey, "I would not recommend going forward at this time, given everything that the Army has on its plate."
Gen. Amos expanded on the unrealistic concern (which I had thought the comprehensive Pentagon study had disproved..?). "My suspicions are that the law will be repealed," Amos said. "And all I'm asking is the... FULL STORY

Though even the most hardened and once-opposed military officials agree that the Pentagon's DADT study is comprehensive, Senator John McCain on Thursday increasingly distanced himself from reality, logic and the majority of Americans by reiterating disapproval for the landmark research.
At the start of today's Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on DADT repeal, Sen. McCain insisted that a "rush to repeal" without further examination of the report would be harmful to the military.
"I'm not saying this law should never change," McCain said in his opening statement. "I am simply saying that it may be premature to make this change and in this manner without further consideration of this report."
As we reported earlier, General... FULL STORY

It sounded too good to be true, but Cindy McCain's recent "calling out" of husband Johnny's odd obsession with Don't Ask Don't Tell is now but a memory. Earlier this month Cindy -- to much applause for standing up to her husband's dusted, antiquated (and in-the-minority) support of military discrimination -- said this in a PSA for the NOH8 Campaign:
"Our political and religious leaders tell LGBT youth that they have no future … They can't serve our country openly … Our government treats the LGBT community like second-class citizens, why shouldn't [the bullies]?"
But that didn't last long. Last week it seems the country's most prominent Stepford Wife reverted back to her blind following of her husband's misguided bigotry with a confusing... FULL STORY

First his daughter, then his wife, and now Sen. John McCain's scapegoat for keeping anti-gay discrimination more alive than he himself seems to be has come around to support DADT repeal.
Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Gary Roughead -- whom McCain has cited numerous times in his rants against the anticipated Pentagon study (which is now scheduled for release one day early on November 30) -- is praising the extensive military review.
“I think the survey, without question, was the most expansive survey of the American military that’s ever been undertaken,” Roughead said during an interview Saturday aboard his plane. “I think the work that has been done is extraordinary."
And though McCain regularly named Roughhead one of the... FULL STORY

Whether it’s through hoodoo or a series of séances, President Obama has promised to magically get DADT repeal through a lame-duck Congress in 2011. Now, with news that Sens. John McCain (R-AZ) and Carl Levin (D-MI) are determined to strip DADT repeal from the upcoming Defense Authorization Bill, chances are even less likely we’ll see an end to military discrimination on Obama’s watch.
Senator McCain has been one of the most vocal supporters of DADT so his efforts are of no surprise, but Sen. Levin is said to be striking a deal with Sec. Robert Gates to remove DADT language from the bill to ensure its streamlined passage.

Appearing on Arizona's Sunday Square Off over the weekend, Sen. John McCain questioned Judge Virginia Phillips's ruling that DADT is unconstitutional, derided President Obama's military knowledge and promised a filibuster on any upcoming DADT vote. In other words, classic McCain.
"The President of the United States has no military experience, no impact with the military, went over to San Diego and called the corpsman "corpse" man. I guess he thought it was 'The Day of the Living Dead'. And has made this decision because of a political promise to the gay and lesbian community." Absolutely I will filibuster or stop it from being brought up until we have a thorough and complete study on the effect of morale and battle effectiveness."
