Does Uganda's "Kill The Gays" bill still contain the death penalty?

It was reported last week that the death penalty provision had been removed in committee, but Ugandan LGBT activists are stating otherwise.

With Uganda's "Anti-Homosexuality Bill" (we guess we're not calling it the "Kill The Gays" bill anymore) moving forward, the United States is speaking out with against its potential passage. 

Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson visited Uganda this weekend and relayed the Obama administration's "vocal" concerns about the bill.

Is an American anti-gay group linked to Uganda's "Kill The Gays" bill also knee deep in the coverup of a murder?

The Missouri-based International House of Prayer (yes, their acronym is IHOP--let's just get that out of the way) is attempting to mask their ties with cult-leader Tyler Deaton.

Deaton is under suspicion of ordering his wife Bethany's murder after it appeared that she may reveal the cult's religious rituals (some of which are homosexual in nature) to her therapist.

While we're busy celebrating the landmark breakthroughs for gay rights in the United States, the gay community in Uganda appears to be facing a dangerous assault on their freedom, courtesy of the Ugandan government. 

According to the speaker of the country's parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, Uganda's anti-gay bill will be passed before the end of 2012.

The LGBT community held Uganda's first Gay Pride Parade in the city of Entebbe last week.

This is the land of the "Kill The Gays" bill, y'all! Quite a huge move on the part of our LGBT family.

Ugandan police interrupted a human rights training session on Monday, claiming that it was an illegal assembly. Advocates say the workshop was legal, but that they were targeted because they were training gay rights activists.

Breaking News: Execution portion supposedly eliminated from Uganda’s anti-gay bill.

It was just announced that the punitive clause that called for the hanging of people engaging in consensual homosexual sex has now been removed from the bill.

Oh, thank you, Bahati, for deciding not to hang us anymore, considering most of the Western world has now turned against your pernicious and ignorant leadership.

But this is only part of a very alive bill that violates human rights, we urge the U.S. to refuse aide until this bill is dead completely and forever! Furthermore, the LAtimes reports ways in which non-gay people could be affected by this bill:
