A new study out of New York University reveals that mental health burdens are playing a key role in the spread of HIV among young black and Latino men.  The study finds that the "burdens of racism, homophobia, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder contribute to the HIV epidemic among both groups.

Though we're pretty grossed out by the inclusion of anti-gay Pastor Louie Giglio in President Obama's second inauguration ceremony, the President's somewhat making up for it by giving the plum inaugural poet spot to gay Latino poet, Richard Blanco!

With all four states that put same-sex marriage on the ballot now officially called, we can finally take a closer look at the numbers behind last night's incredible victories for the LGBT community. A few just released exit polls are letting us know who we can send thank flowers to for the historic 2012 elections...and which group that most needs our help evolving over the next few years.

Ozzie Guillen, the controversy-prone manager of the Miami Marlins, has rushed to defend Blue Jay Yunel Escobar's blatant use of a Spanish anti-gay slur on the MLB field and chalked it up to a difference of culture.

Talking heads have carped incessantly the past week about President Obama's support for same-sex marriage costing him votes in communities of color. A new ABC News poll conducted after the landmark news had time to settle in suggests quite the opposite, however. 

The National Organization for Marriage's infamous race baiting tactics might have all been in vain, according to a new report from the National Council of La Raza and Social Science Research Solutions. Details follow. 

We don't require any evidence at all to know that the National Organization for Marriage has to resort to lowdown dirty tactics to further its agenda of hate, yet it keeps coming. First, internal memos from NOM's campaign against equality in Maine were released on Monday. Today, Louis J. Marinelli (the NOM defector who has turned into a marriage equality advocate) releases internal emails from Maggie Gallagher and project leader Joe Giganti that further reveal the exploitation of minority communities the anti-gay group pursued.

(Yes, that public make-out session with Alberto could’ve landed you in handcuffs and not in the fun way.) But the U.S. government under Obama has worried that members of Cuba’s gay community, while not being arrested, are still dealing with more discrimination and challenges than the rest of the population. So what are we doing about it? And is the Cuban government on board?
