Leesa Dahl, who describes herself as "a pianist in the opera world," was outraged when a Manhattan coffee shop in Harlem called "The Chipped Cup" dared to draw a pink equal sign in solidarity with the marriage equality movement on its sandwich board outside of the door.

One of the standout reasons Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was celebrated by gay audiences in 2012 is the show's inclusion of the star child's uncle, Lee Thompson. Known better as Uncle Poodle, he helped Honey Boo Boo become a gay ally at a very young age with sound bytes ready to compete with the best of 'em. (Remember "everybody's a little gay"?).
Now, Uncle Poodle might be inspiring southern tolerance in new ways after also coming out as HIV positive.
