It seems like every time Oklahoma's lead bigot Sally Kern makes a dangerously ignorant homophobic remark, the entire country reacts with audible contempt—the entire country except for Oklahoma's government, that is. Why, even after receiving 200,000 emails asking lawmakers to speak out against Sally's hate-mongering vitriol, does Oklahoma's government (on both sides of the aisle) refuse to break the silence?

Actually, you might believe it.
This note, like we assume its anonymous writer, has been making the rounds. Sure, this to-do list that allegedly was found on the workout floor of a So-Cal gym looks and reads authentic, but are folks really this stereotypical and narcissistic? Follow the jump for more on the "to-do" list reported this week as being left by a gay man at a WeHo gym (but was speculated earlier this year as being left by a girl at a San Diego gym)...

Our parents told us a story (because we weren't born until 1995, according to our fake I.D.) of the controversy the still-cool then Madonna incited in the mid-90s after dropping the F-Bomb on The Late Show with David Letterman. Now, a letter Her Madgesty wrote under her popular penname "The Anti-Christ" and sent to Letterman in response to the controversy has surfaced, and will go on auction next month.
(Follow the jump for an image of the letter)
The Anti-Christ writes to Letterman in 1994:
"Happy Fucking Birthday Dave! glad you could get so much mileage out of the fucking show. Next time you need some Fucking publicity, just give me a fucking call.
Love
The Anti-Christ"
Too bad that it seems Madonna's Juvidermed... FULL STORY

There are 61 souls in the Senate pledging to vote for DADT repeal tomorrow, but Lt. Col. Victor Fehrenbach's representation from Ohio, Senator Voinovich, isn't yet one of them. Here's a letter penned by Lt. Fehrenbach who hopes to secure Sen. Voinovich's yes vote in the name of equality for all Americans:
Dear Senator Voinovich,
I am a Lieutenant Colonel in the USAF with over 19 years of active service. I am also a proud Ohioan. I am currently facing discharge under the “Don’t Ask / Don’t Tell” (DADT) policy. I am writing you today to urge you to vote for the repeal of this unconstitutional, discriminatory law this Saturday.
I was born at Wright-Patterson AFB, and I was raised in Ohio my entire life. My father was also a Lieutenant... FULL STORY

Tags: dadt, don't ask don't tell, sldn, letters The latest entry in the family-letter writing campaign from the SLDN comes from Jose Rocha.
---
Dear Mr. Johnson and General Ham:
I am a heavy machinery truck driver; I have been all of my life. A blue collar American who raised my son, Joseph Rocha, in a Roman Catholic home with strong Spanish values, after his mother lost custody for drug abuse. Throughout school Joseph turned out to be an awarded scholar, athlete and leader. I did my best to provide a good home for him. But, I wasn’t prepared for my only boy to turn out gay.
Early on in his senior year, at 17, he left the house on one condition: that he never return.
I learned through my wife that he was excelling quickly in the military. He was promoted twice in his first year... FULL STORY

Today's family letter from SLDN comes from Lee Quillian, Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy (retired)
--
Dear General Ham and Mr. Johnson:
I am a retired military sailor, living with a wonderful person who was fired because of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT).
Because of my experience with the military, I understand the life, the duty days, the underway time, the training cycles. Even the simple events of life at sea – how wondrous or disastrous mail call can be, depending on whether or not you get a letter; the whirlwind caused by the simple announcement of liberty call; and the sounds of the Navy - the bells, the whistles, the constant hum and different noises of shipboard living. These are just some of the various events... FULL STORY

Dear General Ham and Mr. Johnson:
My name is Nancy Manzella and I have been a mother for 34 years. My husband and I live in rural Western New York where we have made our home at a grape vineyard and have raised three wonderful sons. We now have beautiful daughters-in-law and grandchildren. We are proud to say that we are the all American family.
I also was a military mom for six years. Our son, Darren Manzella, served two tours in the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Soldier in the United States Army. He was promoted to sergeant,... FULL STORY
