Many scholars say the anti-gay passages in Leviticus and Genesis were only added to the King James Bible in 1943. A new interpretation of the most famous tome of all time has arrived to scrub those modern additions in an attempt to reclaim a tolerant Christianity.

Granville Ampong, the conservative Examiner reporter who outed rising fighter Manny Pacquiao as a vehement homophobe, has come clean to say that Pacquiao actually did not quote the Levitical edict calling for the death of gays.

At a recent symposium on The Bible and homosexuality, theological experts representing the three major world faiths agreed that anti-gay Biblical verses are being taken out of context by modern religious leaders. News of Lauren Ashley “Miss Beverly Hills” has been making rounds on the blogosphere the past few days, so we’d be remiss not to touch upon it here. Seems the Pasadena girl (yea, she’s not even from Beverly Hills!) wants to outpace her idol Carrie Prejean in bigotry and believes that being a vocal nutbag will get her one step closer to the Miss California crown. You never know these days, unfortunately.

To up her game, Ashley released a statement with her astute Biblical interpretation of Leviticus.

While it's difficult to tell whether or not this website is a joke, GodHatesShrimp.com makes an astute point regardless of its seriousness.

When fundies make an argument against equality for the GLBT, they issue a patent response cut from the Book of Leviticus, either 20:13 (If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.) or 18:22 (Homosexuality is absolutely forbidden, for it is an enormous sin). Both quick mentions are scribbled (almost always illegibly and with spelling errors) on poster board and thrown in our faces, whether at a court house, a performance of RENT, or a soldier's funeral.

However, the religionists...
