We've devoted much virtual ink to unapologetic gaybasher Buju Banton and we refuse to stop until he clearly denounces his numerous calls for the murder of gay men. But Bayfront Park Amphitheatre in Miami doesn't seem to feel the same way, as it has booked Buju (granted special permission from a judge to perform the show as he awaits a February trial on drug charges) for a concert next month.
Worse yet, the flyer for the concert labels Buju's show a "Family Event," and encourages young children to be subjected to his anti-gay lyrics by allowing kids under 12 free entry.

Well, we started the day with a Madonna post, so why not end with one, too. While she’s been avoiding the harsh winter elements of New York, Madonna has also apparently been busy starting work on a new album—her first stemming from her new deal with Live Nation.
MTV is reporting that Madge is bringing in David Guetta (can you blame her after his banner year?) and Lady Gaga collaborator Fernando Garibay. Everything is apparently hush hush when it coms to details, but at least these early signs show a little more promise than the so-so collabos on Hard Candy.

Live Nation, which operates the House of Blues franchise, issued this statement:

Tags: murder music, jamaica, call to action, email campaign, live nation, homophobia, buju banton Updated on Thursday to include concert promoter AEG's refusal to cancel Banton's shows. See below.
Live Nation, the promotion team responsible for Madonna's tours, is sponsoring an upcoming four-city tour by notorious "murder music" maestro, Buju Banton. The Jamaican rapper relentlessly promotes and glorifies the murder of gay men in his music, with lyrics too unsettling to repeat.
An email campaign has been launched to let Live Nation and The House of Blues (the venue hosting each stop of the tour) know that supporting and promoting Banton’s violent, hate filled vitriol disguised as music is unacceptable and appalling. Signing the form takes a mere moment, but makes quite the statement... FULL STORY
