Natalie Maines, the gorgeous former face of the Dixie Chicks, has given right wing country fans yet another reason to dislike her (and LGBT fans another reason to fawn over her) in a new interview with USA Today. 

A transgender woman has filed a lawsuit against California Baptist University based on her expulsion following the reveal that she was originally born a male. 

Javier has identified as a female since she was a child and began dressing and presenting herself as female at age 13.

Officials in Portland, Maine are expecting large crowds tomorrow, the first day marriage certificates will be available for same-sex couples in the state. Portland is one of only a few communities in Maine that are extending Saturday office hours to accommodate the anticipated love fest. 

Maine's notaries have been told to keep their church separate from their chosen duties to the state in an email from the office of the Secretary of State.

What a way to wrap up a great year for the LGBT community, right?

Outsports has a powerful piece titled, "The Desperate Consequence of Casual Words."

In it, writer Cyd Zeigler, Jr. shares gay athlete, James Nutter's story from being a closeted athlete in high school and college, to his suicide attempt, through ultimately coming out and choosing to help others facing the same issues.

The piece touches on macho sports culture and the power of gay slurs.

It's written in the Bible (or in the HRC training manual, can't remember which) that "those who support love shall be rewarded" or something. It's a great saying (even if we did just make it up after a lunchtime margarita or three, and it will come to life for the states of Maine, Maryland and Washington when marriage equality goes into effect in the coming months. 

If the desire to see their fellow citizens treated equally doesn't motivate voters and lawmakers in states around the U.S. to support marriage equality, perhaps the influx of revenue that Maryland, Maine, and Washington are about to bring in from the gays will make them a little more amenable to the idea!

The Williams Institute at UCLA has just released their estimates for the minimum generated income same-sex marriage will bring to those three states and it's enough to make any state proudly wave a rainbow flag!

The election provided plenty of fodder for Saturday Night Live this week, but we're happy to see that the marriage equality sweep didn't go unnoticed!

A "Gay Couple from Maine" stopped by "Weekend Update" to touch on the same-sex marriage victory with Seth Meyers and as expected, hilarity ensued.

President Obama's first reaction to Tuesday's landslide of victories for marriage equality in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington arrived on Thursday night through Valerie Jarrett, one of his key advisers. 

So, what does the president think about the election's landslide of love?

Not even allowing the citizens of Maine who find themselves on the right side of history a weekend to celebrate, the Christian Civic League has already started making plans to bring marriage equality back before voters in yet another referendum.
