The ACLU wants to be sure viewers have the opportunity next season! The group’s advocacy arm, ACLU Action, has launched a campaign—complete with a website—to urge Modern Family producers to make it legal for the hit show’s gay couple, Mitch and Cam. 

Of course the show does take place in California, where same-sex marriage is still illegal, but I guess we suspended reality enough to believe Mariah actually sang on Idol last night, so why not here, right?

The DOMA Project has done a brilliant job of highlighting the injustices many LGBT binational couples face in light of DOMA rules. This week they brought us the story of David and Jason, a binational couple who have been separated 17 times under DOMA rules—despite being legally married in New York.

New findings out of Michigan show an impressive swing in support of marriage equality, today standing at 57 percent. That number is great, but the jump in support is even more telling. Check out where voters stood on the issue just last year, after the jump.

Hong Kong's highest court has ruled that a transgender woman has the right to marry her boyfriend. It's a huge step forward in the acknowledgment of the transgender community as being members of the gender with which they identify. 

Though same-sex marriage is not currently legal in the country, this certainly bodes well for its future passage as well.

Marriage equality is officially the law of the land in Minnesota now that Governor Mark Dayton has signed the legislation, passed yesterday, into law!

If you had hoped Michele Bachmann seeking praise for her failed constitutional amendment to ban marriage equality in Minnesota yesterday was the last we'd hear from her on the issue for awhile, you might want to take a seat. 

As the state that gave us Crazy Eyes and Lady Fingers (aka The Bachmanns) officially becomes state No. 12 to offer marriage equality later today, a clip featuring Michele calling for "spiritual warfare" against gays and civil rights has surfaced. 

With the addition of Rhode Island, Delaware and Minnesota over the past two weeks,, marriage equality maps of the United States have certainly brightened up, haven't they?

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton will sign marriage equality legislation into law at 5 p.m. central.

Thanks to Brazil's National Council of Justice, marriage equality has moved from being limited to a handful of states to being approved nationwide.

Maybe the older generation isn't as rigidly conservative as we had once assumed?

According to a new poll from Gallup, an increasing number of voters over the age of 50 are coming around to support marriage equality. 

With three states having approved marriage equality in two weeks, we have a bona fide epidemic according to the CDC (via Stephen Colbert). Stephen devoted a segment on Monday night to warning the straights about the gay symptoms (jet-fuel high bears, for starters) associated with the contagion. Check it out after the jump.
