New findings out of Michigan show an impressive swing in support of marriage equality, today standing at 57 percent. That number is great, but the jump in support is even more telling. Check out where voters stood on the issue just last year, after the jump.

Wah-wah. Much of the community had been waiting for Michigan to become the latest state to provide marriage rights for its same-sex couples in a surprise twist. But those dreams were squashed on Thursday as a judge postponed a same-sex adoption decision until after SCOTUS hears the case against the "Defense of Marriage Act."

A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed against Eastern Michigan University by former Graduate School Counseling Program student, Julea Ward.

Ward filed her lawsuit after she was dismissed from the graduate program following her refusal to counsel a gay client based on her religious beliefs. While she referred the client to another counselor, the school argued she'd breached their anti-discrimination policy.

Apparently a court has ruled that Shirvell can now receive unemployment benefits.
