The University of Michigan's student body president who was the victim of intense bullying and even stalking at the hands of the state's assistant attorney general has finally spoken out about the saga. Chris Armstrong appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 to break his silence, admitting he feels compelled to share his story because of the rash (and heightened coverage) of gay teen suicides afflicting the nation.

Earlier this week Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox said he would not reprimand assistant AG Andrew Shivrell for regularly taunting, harassing and stalking Chris Armstrong, U of M's student body president. Though the ACLU sided with Cox's early decision on the grounds of free speech, today he changed his mind by suspending Shivrell under what might be the guise of a "personal leave." Also, Shivrell's anti-gay stalker blog has been set to private.

The announcement comes a day after Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm posted on Twitter that she would fire Shivrell if she had the chance.
