Is Presidents' Day really the time to start talking about killing Lincoln again? Poor Abe. But it's a slooooww holiday Monday (for many) and a back-to-the-grind-as-usual day for us, so we ponder the important stuff.

What do you think about this recently pulled ad opposing homophobic Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC)?

The question it seemingly intends to raise is: "Why is Senator DeMint's anti-gay sentiment acceptable?"

He's advocating that gay individuals should not be allowed to be teachers.

The ad raises this question by drawing a parallel between anti-gay sentiment and rhetoric versus anti-Semitic sentiment and rhetoric.

Watch after the jump.

A burgeoning star of the Republican party has issued preemptive bigotry against a hypothetical openly gay president, possibly in light of the GLBT community's victory in Houston's mayoral race.

The Huffington Post reports:

"It would be bothersome to me just personally because I consider it immoral," DeMint said in a fairly provocative interview.

The South Carolina Republican, who has become the face of the Republican purity movement, expressed other socially conservative stances during his interview, including his staunch opposition to state-permitted gay marriage.

"Marriage is a religious institution. The federal government has no business redefining what it is," he said. "Governments should not be in the business of promoting...
