Serena Williams isn't the only gaydored diva bringing the U.S. Open into more mainstream headlines for all the wrong reasons. Seems Cyndi Lauper sang the Christina Aguilera-version of "The Star Spangled Banner" during the Saturday open of the tennis tournament because, well, because of 9/11 or something.

Everyone can simmer down now because the inspiration for Christina Aguilera's warbling and confused rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" has been revealed as Maya Rudolph's breathtaking interpretation from SNL in 2006.

Despite a foot-hockey or whatever it is game of EPIC proportions, a halftime show filled with more technical difficulties than when Grandma tries to use her Jitterbug and commercials that cost more than Kim Zolciak's wig collection, it seems like the Superbowl XLV moment gaining the most buzz in the blogosphere today is Christina Aguilera's flubbing of one line during her hyper-R&B rendition of The Star Spangled Banner

What Christina sang:

"What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last gleaming."

The correct lyrics:

"O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming."

Critics and polls (one poll boasted 75% of responders saying she blew it!) continue to rip her apart this morning, but Christina has already...

Last week we told you about Donna Sachet's history-making national anthem at an SF Giants game. Now we have video to show just how proud the community should be of the star. Sure, the lighting, sound system and live venue might not be a drag queen's best friend, but we think Donna rocked it out. Congrats, lady in red!
