Same-sex marriage isn't illegal, per se, in New Mexico, so does that mean same-sex couples can legally wed?
That's what two same-sex couples are arguing in a lawsuit they've filed today in a New Mexico court.

Same-sex couples in New Mexico who want to tie the knot have been given hope by Santa Fe lawmakers.
According to a legal memo supported by Mayor David Coss, Councilor Patti Bushee and outlined by City Attorney Geno Zamora, marriage equality is currently legal in New Mexico.
