A gunman murdered a 32-year-old gay man early Saturday morning after screaming anti-gay slurs at him in Greenwich Village.

What's going on in Midtown Manhattan?

Less than a week after eight men allegedly beat boyfriends to a pulp for being gay, another horrifying anti-gay assault takes place in the neighborhood. This time it occurred near the 33rd Street PATH Station.

Bigots are getting brasher in their violent attacks on gay men, it seems, after the latest "potential" hate crime to hit national headlines goes down in Manhattan in the afternoon. 

We were always told, "Someday your ship will come in," but apparently not this year.

In a move straight out of our nightmares, New York City's annual "Fleet Week," which brings gorgeous U.S. Naval sailors into the city by the droves has been cancelled.

After worrying the gay communities in California and New York, the string of high-profile meningitis deaths of gay men in NY and L.A. seem to be unrelated, according to health officials. 

Updated Friday at 6:30 p.m. PST:

Sadly the news we have been reporting on all day has taken a turn for the worse, as the AP is reprting the 33-year-old diagnosed with meningitis has been declared brain dead by doctors and is on life support. This corrects earlier reports by local L.A. media said the patient, Brett Shaad, had died Friday afternoon. 

NBCLA reports that the victim had attended White Party in Palm Springs just a few weeks ago, with West Hollywood city councilman John Duran adding, "If this resident was in fact in attendance at the White Party, it raises the issue, so we want to get the word out to any gay men that were at the White Party, that if they have any of these symptoms, go see their physician...

Steven Petrow, the author of Steven Petrow’s Complete Gay & Lesbian Manners, fielded a question in The New York Times' "Civil Behavior" column from a supportive mom of a "flamboyant" gay teen who's being taunted by another gay student with a "distaste for flamboyant gay men."
