New Zealand beer brand, Tui, is facing a wave of controversy following a billboard campaign that many argue is homophobic.

The ad presumably makes reference to New Zealand's recent legalization of same-sex marriage and reads: "Dad's new husband seems nice." "Yeah right."

So what does the company have to say?

Find out after the jump.

Think SCOTUS has a few numbers prepared for the June decisions on marriage equality? Perhaps the following video of the New Zealand Parliament breaking into traditional Maori song after approving marriage equality will give 'em a good example of the kind of theatrics we hope for when we're officially no longer considered second class citizens.

Hark the Kiwi angels sing! Glory to the newborn queen?

With the world's attention focused on New Zealand as The Hobbit (filmed in the country) finally makes its way to the big screen, Gandalf himself has used the current international spotlight to make a plea for marriage equality. After all, the country was the first to give women the vote, Ian McKellan reminds us in the new video, so what are they waiting for?

As you can tell from our extensive summer coverage, we love our male Olympians—especially the out gay ones that are bringing visibility to our community.

With the Winter Olympics right around the corner in Sochi, Russia, we've already got our eye on an out gay athlete from New Zealand and he needs our help!

Kiwi speed skater Blake Skjellerup is in the running for the AMP People's Choice Scholarship (funded by a New Zealand bank). Our votes can get him the funding he needs to pay for his training and equipment and Olympic trainers and coaches. More after the jump!

We're a big fan of contact sports, especially when they're played in the nude.

Our friends at Outsports have provided us with some photos of New Zealand's Nude Blacks rugby team competing against South Africa's Springbox. (We don't know what any of that means.)

They've generously edited the photos so that they're moderately suitable for work, but the video that we're providing a link to most certainly isn't.

Enjoy the athletic prowess after the jump!
