As unfortunately expected, the Minnesota Vikings have cut famous LGBT ally Chris Kluwe from the team. 

So, how did Chris respond to the big news?

With the selection of punter Jeff Locke in the NFL draft, Minnesota Vikings kicker and vocal LGBT ally Chris Kluwe may soon be out of a job--and he thinks his outspoken support of LGBT rights may be the reason for it.

Alan Gendreau, a 23-year old former kicker from Middle Tennessee State, wants to make history. 

As he works on gaining an audition to tryout for a team, Gendreau understands that his transparent sexual orientation might be on the front of recruiters' minds. But it's not on his, surprisingly. 

Former Arizona Cardinals player Kerry Rhodes (and certified hottie) was quite graceful last week when he politely shot down rumors of his homosexuality. 

Well, he may need to show even more grace now that the man he was photographed with (and prodded by TMZ about)  is claiming that the two were in love and in a romantic relationship.

Instead of letting the alleged closeted NFL player/s come out on his/their own time, TMZ is attempting to smoke him/them out with the process of elimination. 

First up is former Cardinals player Kerry Rhodes (who was released by the team less than a month ago). TMZ asked him to reaffirm his sexual orientation after a picture showed the athlete with his arm around a male friend.

His position within the NFL may be unclear after getting cut from his team on Thursday, but former Baltimore Raven Brendon Ayanbadejo still has his ear to the closet door within the organization.

Brendon Ayanbadejo, one of our most vocal allies in the NFL, has been cut from the Baltimore Ravens. He assures the world that the pink slip wasn't given to him because of his outspoken support of marriage equality, however.

Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe is just...he's just the best. 

In his latest opinion piece for CNN he's blasts those within the sport and outside of it that are denouncing a gay player for potentially coming out based on the idea that said player will be a "distraction" or that coming out is in some way "selfish."

One line to players sums it up quite nicely: "I have four simple words for you. Grow the f*** up. This is our job, we are adults, so would you kindly act like one?"

New England tight end Rob Gronkowski strikes a very different tone today than Seattle Seahawk Chris Clemons on the subject of a NFL player coming out of the closet publicly.

Seattle Seahawk Christopher Clemons isn't exactly excited that the NFL might soon become the most diverse pro sport in the country. When speaking on Twitter with fans about the possibility of a football star coming out within the next few months, Clemens decides it would be a "selfish" thing to do that divides whichever team he's on.

Sports and gay circles alike this week have been abuzz with excitement following a report from Monday that claims a NFL player is ready to come out of the closet. Until we get our first openly-gay current pro-footballer, who better to discuss such a scenario than Athlete Ally's Hudson Taylor?

Taylor appeared on MSNBC this a.m. to help hold open the closet door for the mystery NFL star who may or may not be coming out "within the next few months."
