Tags: blake hayes, nypd, hate crimes, hells kitchen On Saturday morning, New York City radio host Blake Hayes (pictured) and a friend were victims of an anti-gay assault in the Hells Kitchen neighborhood. The attack itself is deplorable, but Hayes' report of the NYPD's inaction is just as gut-wrenching.
"The cops -- the NYPD -- did NOTHING. They wouldn't even take the guy's information so we could file a claim later, or even run the plates of the car whose body was dented from him throwing my friend into it. 'They're NJ plates, we can't do anything,'" Blake wrote in a blog post over the weekend.
But there is good news to report. Today Instinct heard from New York City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn, who assures us that the New York City Police Commissioner will investigate the reports... FULL STORY
