It's officially less than a year until the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia kickoff, and already figure skater Johnny Weir is dispensing advice to LGBT athletes hoping to attend.

Australian Olympic gold medalist swimmer, Ian Thorpe is no stranger to speculation about his sexuality, and with his recent appearance as a commentator for the BBC during the London 2012 Olympics, his swimming comeback, and his upcoming autobiography the spotlight is once again being shined on the pesky topic.

In an interview with The Telegraph, he touches on the topic and raised questions as to just what will be revealed in that autobiography...

We've been wondering what we were going to do with ourselves now that the London Olympics are no longer a source of distraction. Thankfully, Louis Vuitton rushed to answer that question this morning by releasing the first image of its new celebrity pairing with the now-retired Michael Phelps. 

We had high hopes for Matthew Mitcham to take gold in the 10m diving competition closing out the London Olympics this weekend (and not just because of his promise to dive naked). The guy's charming, a great international ambassador for the LGBT community and just plain talented. When things didn't quite work out the way we all had hoped on Saturday, gay diving fans across the world tossed on their Vera Wang veils and held memorials for what Matthew said would be the end of his career. 

But according to an interview on his way out of London, it looks like we can put out the candles and start looking forward to Rio's Summer Games in four years because Matthew may very well not retire!

We've had another week to examine your submissions and suggestions as well as every inch of Spandex parading around London since Part 1 of our favorite Olympics studs dropped jaws around the world. It was exactly a week ago when jaw-dropping Australian Olympic diver Matthew Mitcham asked us to place a ring on his finger yet he's already making us lofty promises that we pray to Oprah he can keep. 

So how will Matthew make the dreams of many men and women around the world come true if he wins gold in the 10m diving competition this weekend at the London Olympics? 

After taking a look at the medals awarded to the handful of out athletes throughout history, it looks like the answer is "yes." As it turns out, over half of all gay Olympians have won medals, far surpassing the medal ratios of the unfortunate non-gays.
