Sad news.

The Bronx Community Pride Center will close its doors after 16 years of providing health care, job-readiness training, support groups, case management, and cultural activities to the Bronx LGBT community.

This comes two weeks after the arrest of Lisa Winters, the former executive director of the center, who has been charged with embezzling $338,000 from the nonprofit.

A lesbian couple, at least one member of which is a military servicemember, participated in a commitment ceremony last month at Fort Polk's military chapel in Louisana.

Apparently this is causing quite the uproar among politicians and some Louisiana citizens. Same-sex marriage is banned in the Louisiana state constitution, and some are accusing the military members that conducted the ceremony and allowed it to take place of breaking the law.

How a commitment ceremony is being confused with a legal marriage is beyond us, but we'll let people speak for themselves after the jump!

Bruce Harris, the African-American openly-gay Republican mayor of Chatham in New Jersey, narrowly missed appointment to New Jersey's Supreme Court.

Democrats voted against his nomination citing his lack of courtroom experience and his willingness to recuse himself in court cases dealing with same-sex marriage.
