It's almost that time of year again and we couldn't be more psyched! 

Outfest has just announced its opening night gala film and this year's Outfest Achievement Award honoree.

We're already trying to reserve our tickets. Seriously. We're on the website now trying to make this happen.

We were fortunate enough to catch this brilliant film when it screened at Outfest in July and we had to share its new trailer with you, Instincters!

Grab your tissues. Here's the rundown:

"When a teenager with Down syndrome (Isaac Leyva) is abandoned by his mother, a gay couple (Alan Cumming and Garret Dillahunt) takes him in and becomes the loving family he's never had. But when their unconventional living arrangement is discovered by authorities, the men are forced to fight a biased legal system to save the life of the child they have come to love as their own."

Darren Criss got all swoonworthy when he gave us his take on an old Broadway classic last night at Outfest's Legacy Awards honoring stage and screen producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

It looks like we've found October's hot ticket! 

OUTFEST, the world's leading organization dedicated to showcasing LGBT film has announced that it will honor award winning producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron at the 8th annual Legacy Awards. The Legacy Awards will take place on Saturday, October 13 at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

Zadan and Meron will be receiving the Visionary Award in recognition of their contribution to LGBT arts and media visibility (and Glee's Darren Criss will be presenting, so we certainly don't hate that!).

The young men and women of ACT UP get their due in the long awaited documentary on early AIDS-era activism, How To Survive A Plague.

The first trailer for the Outfest hit was released this morning, reminding us just how heroic and inspiring these LGBT fighters were. Watch the debut trailer for a film described as “an epic celebration of heroism and tenacity” after the jump.

The Academy Awards, Tony's, Emmy's and Golden Globes are often referred to as the gayest awards shows in existence. But they got nothin' on L.A.'s annual Outfest LGBT Film Festival, which announced its 2012 award winners over the weekend. James Franco, once again, has gay sex on the brain.

Filmmaker Travis Mathews announced yesterday that he and the uber gay-friendly, Franco are teaming up for what's being described as a "homo-sex-art film."

We're just wondering whether James will be starring in it.

Outfest got a little surprise from viral Internet tastemaker Chloe in the form of a 30th anniversary video.

When we turn 30 in 12 years (we can hear you laughing!), a video from Chloe will be at the top of our birthday wish list! 

Next month, choreographer, director and producer Adam Shankman and Lifetime Networks will be honored for consistently pushing the limits for LGBT visibility. And, gurl, if a year has gone by where you weren't inspired by a production Shankman was involved in or weeped while watching a Lifetime movie, then we respectfully request that you return your gay card.
