The Rangers are "looking into" an anti-gay slur tweet issued by the account of the baseball team's starting pitcher Derek Holland over the weekend. Holland denies writing "ur a fag" in response to an angry fan on the social network, but the team's general manager is taking the unwelcome distraction "very seriously."

Brandon McCarthy, pitcher for the Oakland A's, has had it with the cheap laughs the "Kiss Cams" at baseball stadiums regularly go for, and has taken to Twitter to demand an end to the homophobia.

If we threatened to extort every supposedly straight guy that we had a “relationship” with in high school and college…well presumably we’d be in jail. Serving multiple sentences.

That threat apparently didn’t phase Christian Bedard, the former high school classmate of Major League Baseball player, Carl Pavano, the pitcher (heh.) for the Minnesota Twins.

Bedard alleges that he and Pavano had a 3-year sexual relationship in high school and apparently used Facebook as his means to get the professional ball player (handler?) to pay up in exchange for his silence.
