We're seeing more rumbling within the ranks of the Boy Scouts.

This weekend a northeast chapter of the Scouts, the Connecticut Yankee Council, renounced the Boy Scouts' current discriminatory policy as well as any potential policy that discriminates against gay adults that may act as leaders.

See what the Council had to say after the jump.

Yikes. Professor, your homophobia is showing.

Harvard Professor Niall Ferguson stepped in it in a big way while debating the economic policies of John Maynard Keynes.  Ferguson is the Laurence A. Tisch Professor of History at Harvard University; he also authored The Great Degeneration: How Institutions Decay and Economies Die.

We know economic policy isn't exactly titillating, but Ferguson's insinuation that Keynes' policies are based on him being homosexual--and as a result, self-interested because he didn't have children is beyond offensive.

Details after the jump.

Whew! Well this is a relief, primarily because if we suddenly had to boycott Chipotle (one our most consistent cheat day pleasures) we're not sure how we could have handled it.

Chipotle was signed on to sponsor the Boy Scouts' "Utah Scout-A-Rama," but admitted yesterday that its sponsorship violated the company's own corporate non-discrimination policies.

Chipotle reached out to ThinkProgress. See what they had to say after the jump!

As they work towards making a decision on whether or not to lift the ban on gay members in the Boy Scouts, the BSA has distributed a 13 question survey to 1.1 million adult members including Scout alumni, parents, volunteers and leaders.

The survey asks members about hypothetical situations that may occur and how they feel about them. It also include questions that allow members to answer based on a scale of the strength of their feelings as well as yes-or-no questions and some that allow open-ended responses.

Check out the full survey after the jump.

It looks like the Boy Scouts may have to rethink their lineup at this summer's Boy Scouts National Jamboree, now that the band Train has said they'll pull out of their scheduled performance if the Boy Scouts don't do the right thing and remove their ban on gay Scouts and leaders.

Check out the band's statement after the jump!

Nice! A gay Missouri high school student gets to take his boyfriend to prom following a decision by his high school administrators to change their policy barring students from bringing same-sex dates.

America's favorite son, Eagle Scout and Scouts For Equality President Zach Wahls eviscerated homophobe Ed Whelan on Saturday during an interview with CNN's Randi Kaye and it was a thing of beauty. (Seriously, we don't even smoke and we needed a cigarette after.)

Whelan trots out the tired party line of the danger of having gay men around impressionable young boys in the Boy Scouts and Wahls articulately and logically shoots down his argument.

Sit back and enjoy folks.

The National Organization for Marriage, which, besides having it in its name, kept its anti-gay battles limited to marriage to stay away any evidence of animus. Until now. NOM has officially (and for the first time) untethered itself from battling same-sex marriage to become a general anti-gay hate group. How's that for animus?

At GitHub, a community devoted to the altruism of sharing code with fellow developers, a severe lack of diversity is shining through in many lines of open-source code. Is it time for the development community to take stock and have a conversation about offensive language perpetuated behind the scenes of the Internet?

In an interesting move—as Neil Patrick Harris correctly identifies—the Boy Scouts of America have opened up their phone lines to hear what the public has to say about allowing gay troops and leaders into its ranks.

If an analog phone call is too old school for you, the BSA will also take your opinion on the matter at the email address  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Give 'em a ring or an email. You know the bigoted forces against dismantling Boy Scout discrimination are doing the same.
