Reminding us of just how disconnected from reality "ex gay" promoters truly are, Focus on the Family's Jeff Johnston reacted to the recent HRC study on LGBT youth by claiming that "praying the gay away" will save kids from depression and suicide.

We found this interesting.
Apparently a second counselor at Marcus Bachmann’s Christian counseling clinic is being accused of participating in “pray the gay away” conversion therapy.
Bachmann, himself, was previously exposed in a sting operation for participating in the same practice.
What we find interesting isn’t that the clinic is still practicing this controversial (and let’s face it, idiotic and dangerous) form of therapy, but that it appears to shock people that it’s occurring.
Furthermore, we’re also questioning their methods of exposure.

Thank Gaga we did not decide to satiate our daily pancake cravings in Paramus, New Jersey last month! Had we taken NJ Transit across the Hudson on the fateful morning ABC News' What Would You Do decided to conduct a social experiment on ex-gay therapy, we might be writing this from the East Jersey State Prison library. Thankfully, the only infraction we now risk being charged with while watching the eye-opening segment is a noise complaint from our neighbors as we yell at our screen. Follow the jump to see what we're talking about.

With soaring diva voices, gay men dancing, prancing and flailing, we expected this to be some sort of hilarious spoof. But the end result actually made us sober up think. Watch the video after the jump.

As soon as the title for this week's episode of OWN's "Our America with Lisa Ling" was announced, passionate criticism erupted from all corners of the LGBT community -- before the show even aired. "Pray The Gay Away?" seemed like a low-ball, sensational attempt to save a troubled fledgling network from ratings hell, some contended, but ultimately sparked a larger conversation. Today, Justin Ward, GLAAD's Media Strategist, eloquently sums up some looming criticisms with the episode that aired.
It’s deeply concerning to me that the question “[Can you] pray the gay away?” is even being asked today. It’s even more concerning to see it being presented as a debate by any reputable media institution. It’s been nearly... FULL STORY

Not even an hour ago a teaser clip for tonight's episode of Lisa Ling's OWN show was released, and already the gay blogosphere is on fire about whether it'll benefit or denigrate the gay community. The subject matter of tonight's episode "Pray The Gay Away?" is as forward as the question posed in the title, and some are worried the conversation Lisa is hoping to start isn't the most LGBT-friendly.
Lucky for those hoping to voice their opinions directly to Lisa's (and Gayle's) earholes, producers have just announced that a live discussion will take place following the airing.
From the press release:
“Pray the Gay Away? The Conversation Continues…” airing live from 11 p.m. – 12 a.m. ET will talk to representatives... FULL STORY
