Arizona congressman Matt Salmon's gay son--also named Matt--is really making the rounds. He stopped by Anderson 360 to chat with the Silver Fox about his father's opposition to marriage equality.

We can't hate on him for taking advantage of any opportunity to get face time with Anderson, but we're curious as to what you think about Matt's relationship with his parents--both of whom are actively and vocally opposed to him having the right to marry the partner of his choosing.

Sadly the news we have been reporting on all day has taken a turn for the worse, as the AP is reprting the 33-year-old diagnosed with meningitis has been declared brain dead by doctors and is on life support. This corrects earlier reports by local L.A. media said the patient, Brett Shaad, had died Friday afternoon. 

NBCLA reports that the victim had attended White Party in Palm Springs just a few weeks ago, with West Hollywood city councilman John Duran adding, "If this resident was in fact in attendance at the White Party, it raises the issue, so we want to get the word out to any gay men that were at the White Party, that if they have any of these symptoms, go see their physician...

As expected, the spring gathering of the Republican National Committee has seen the party's opposition to marriage equality reaffirmed. 

Harrison Ford plays Branch Rickley, the man responsible for bridging the racial divide in baseball, in his new film. While doing press for the upcoming movie, Harrison was asked if he sees the resemblance between the African American struggle for civil rights and that of marriage equality. NOM scratching at the ground for relevance in the face of inevitable equality is nothing new, but the anti-gay group's latest tactic involves attempting to scare parents. 

The week of voting has wrapped up at last with the French Senate has giving final approval to marriage equality and adoption legislation. The bill will receive a technical reading in the Parliament before becoming law, but it's done and the deal sealed as of Friday afternoon!

Young Republicans in support of marriage equality want the older members of their party to wake up.

As Republicans convene this week to assess their party's arguably failing platform, social conservatives are threatening to jump ship if the party takes any steps in the direction towards equality.

Thirteen influential wingnuts (joined, of course, by hate group leader Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council) penned a letter to the Republican National Committee telling them to affirm the party's 2012 platform, which supported a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage and supported the Defense of Marriage Act, or face abandonment by their socially conservative base.
