Snoop Lion hoped an appearance on VH1's Big Morning Buzz would silence some of the uproar over recent comments he made about hip hop being “too masculine” to welcome a gay rapper. (As if there are no masculine gay men.)

Somehow, he just seemed to make the entire situation even worse.

On Monday, the Human Rights Campaign promoted its red-hued equality sign and asked supporters of marriage equality to make it their profile picture in honor of the Supreme Court hearings; by Wednesday, a large portion of users had made the swap to state their support.

Today, in a rare glimpse at the data behind the scenes of the largest social network, Facebook breaks down the number of users who changed their profile pictures on Tuesday (the day of the Prop 8 hearing at SCOTUS).
