The Family Research Council, led by Tony Perkins, has released their latest SNL sketch, except it's not an SNL sketch and isn't meant to be intentionally humorous (or terrifying).

The group is rallying voters to gather signatures to force a voter referendum on SB 48 in California, which basically allows schools to acknowledge that gay people exist.

We know, we know. That's a terrible idea.

As we reported last week, anti-equality forces in Maryland submitted more than the required amount of signatures to the state elections officials; authorities validated most of the signatures on Thursday night, pretty much making it official that the rights of a minority group will go up for a majority vote in Maryland come fall.

We guess we'll see whether the recent upswing in same-sex marriage support will result in a victory amongst Washington voters. (Still, we've gotta say this whole voting on civil rights thing is getting old.)

Preserve Marriage Washington submitted more than 200,000 signatures, effectively blocking Washington's law allowing same-sex marriage from taking effect on Thursday.
