While GOProud seems to be reveling in their role as the abused stepchild, that's somehow hoping to get rich off of an inheritance (it's all very Dynasty), the Log Cabin Republicans are taking a more measured tone with regards to the Republican party's blatantly anti-gay platform.
While they're at least acknowledging that the GOP platform is devastatingly bad for gay Americans, they also seem to have hope that they're on their way to a pro-gay victory.
See what they have to say after the jump.

Masterfully using Tony Perkins's own words to prove the fallacy in his crusade against same-sex relationships, the Log Cabin Republicans have taken a full page ad out in the Tampa Tribune to address the Republican National Convention.
The LCR hasn't exactly graced the good side of the mainstream LGBT community recently, but the new ad might change that a bit. Check the ad out after the jump!

We're not going to sugarcoat it. This statement by the Log Cabin Republicans regarding the the GOP's explicitly anti-gay platform reads like an abused spouse trying to rationalize and qualify the behavior of their abuser to anyone that will listen.
When your biggest argument in support of your party's discriminatory platform is that unlike in 2008, they didn't actually state that gays shouldn't serve in the military, or they didn't explicitly say that gays facing death in countries like Iran should be blocked from seeking asylum in the U.S., you're standing on shaky ground.
Note that the platform doesn't say gays should be able to serve openly, or that LGBT refugees should be protected from death... FULL STORY

The Log Cabin Republican's are applauding the passage of language that the pro-gay conservative group says is a nod of support for the LGBT community.
According to Buzzfeed, A subcommittee of the Republican National Committee's platform-drafting committee passed language this morning that states: "We embrace the principle that all Americans have the right to be treated with dignity and respect."

A new poll from the Washington Post finally puts the hard numbers behind what the LGBT community has suspected for quite some time: America's tea baggers really, really want to limit the scope of federal government...except when it comes to letting the federal government into our bedrooms. In that case, tea baggers are completely supportive of big government keeping big homos away from civil marriage equality.
Try to wrap your minds around those logistical hoops with more deets on WaPo's new poll after the jump!

We weren't the only ones with our butt-enhancing tighty-whities in a bunch after the Log Cabin Republicans resoundingly applauded Romney's selection of Rep. Paul Ryan while turning a blind queer eye to the VP contestant's horrible anti-gay history. The Courage Campaign was paying attention, too, and has started a petition asking that the LCR withdraw its support for one of the most anti-gay tickets in decades. Details and a new plea from LCR to Mitt Romney, after the jump!

The Log Cabin Republicans slow clapped the announcement of Rep. Paul Ryan as Romney's running mate over the weekend despite the fact that, in some instances, Ryan is even more anti-gay than his ticket-mate.

It's an incredible rarity, but there is actually one position from Mitt Romney's past that the GOP presidential candidate still stands by today.
Even rarer is that the position Romney's not flip-flopping over has to do with the LGBT community!
So, what presidential candidate Romney has to say about 1994 Romney calling on the Boy Scouts of America to end its policy of discrimination against the LGBT?

With five consecutive federal court losses to their credit in DOMA cases, we're really curious as to why House Republicans, who control the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group, continue to spend taxpayer money on legislation that appears to be both on its way out and unconstitutional.
House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy has a simple answer: it's their duty.
He elaborates after the jump.
