Anti-gay GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum doesn't want to be known, to unfamiliar Google users, as the filthy bi-product that sometimes occurs during lube-heavy sex. In tandem with his bid for presidency, the conservative candidate has launched another campaign to clean up his search results. Google isn't having it.

As sarcastically speculated at the Wonkette, some conservative, anti-gay blogger must have spent a large portion of Monday Googling "gay penis size," because a 2009 National Institute of Health Study focusing on men's health, sexual orientation and the size of their members has today (two years later) made the right-wing headlines. Details follow.

Tags: election, november, voting, results, question 1, maine, referendum 71, washington, marriage equality, domestic, lgbt, glbt, reactions, signorile, mixner As with the day after elections last year, a lot of us are left scratching our heads and reaching for the aspirin. The hangover is real, and isn't pretty. Once again, voters took to the ballots to remove the rights of GLBT Americans, successfully creating yet another state where a quite literal gay apartheid has been realized. If you haven't heard the news all over the gay blogosphere (and mainstream media) this morning, then we're sad to report that Yes on Question 1 in Maine passed with 53% of the vote, despite a dead-heat in the polls leading up to yesterday.
Better news from Kalamazoo, Michigan, where voters passed an antidiscrimination ordinance that makes discriminating against the GLBT in the workplace, housing and public accomodations... FULL STORY

Tags: elections, 2009, vote, maine, question 1, washington, referendum 71, ballot, results, marriage equality, domestic partnerships, win, loss As of 1:32 a.m. (ET), the New York Times has called Maine's Question 1, and it is unfortunately reminiscent of this time last year in California. Once again, a very slim majority has voted to take away the rights of GLBT citizens. As of press time with 87% of precincts reporting, Question 1 to remove same-sex couples' right to marry was ahead a mere 30k votes (52% yes, 48% no).
In better news, as of press time Washington's Referendum 71 -- the "everything but marriage" ballot initiative -- is looking positive, but with only 50% of precincts reporting the NYT considers it too early to call.
We'll have a full round-up for you tomorrow morning, so be sure to check back.

Tags: maine, marriage equality, politics, no on 1, election results We are all on eggshells watching and waiting for every tidbit of information on election results in states across our country. In California, still stung from last November Prop. 8 battle and loss, we're especially interested to see what side of history Mainers will come down on when the results for Question 1 are tallied.
For updated election results in Maine, visit www.protectmaineequality.org beginning at 8PM EST (that's 5PM for you Californians...in case math isn't your strong suit).
The campaign manager for No On 1, has produced this brief YouTube clip to thank everyone for their contributions to help them in Maine—and to help all of us around the country realize our equal rights, one state at a time.

Tags: caster semenya, south africa, runner, results, IAFF, sports Even after she got all dolled up for the cover of You Magazine, South African runner and 800-meter world champion Caster Semenya’s fate is up in the air. It seems that thorough physical examinations have determined Semenya possesses both male and female sexual organs.
The revelation creates an interesting dilemma for the IAFF, the international organization for track and field, which has stated that if Semenya was found to not be female, they’d revoke her title.
How do you think the IAFF should proceed?
