Earlier this week we saw an updated marriage equality map for the U.S., but today ILGA is giving us a glimpse of LGBT rights across Europe—ranging from full equality to gross violations of human rights. Check out the color-coded findings below.

Another year, another International Pride Month that won't include Moscow on the calendar of events. 

Once again, city officials in the Russian capital have refused to allow permits to host gay pride events in the city, surprising no one, unfortunately.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has already stated his opposition to foreign gay couples adopting Russian children, but it appears he now wants to take things a step further.

The President may go so far as to ban adoption by citizens of countries that recognize marriage equality.

Doing his best impression of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Vladimir Putin told a press conference in Amsterdam that gays in Russia are treated equally.

There will be a lot more orphaned Russian kids if Vladimir Putin has his way. Russia's President has had it with foreign gay couples adopting children in need of loving homes from his country, and is prepared to end the lovefest.

We might be covering St. Petersburg Pride sooner than we had imagined thanks to a historic ruling out of the Kostroma regional court in Russia. After hearing an appeal brought forth by organizers of Moscow Pride and heroic activist Nikolai Alekseev, the court ruled that gay pride events do not constitute as "propaganda," which is banned in St. Petersburg.

A recent survey shows that unlike the majority of the developed world where the LGBT community is gaining acceptance at rapid rates, Russia continues to grow more anti-gay.

We are still wearing our laced black veil over our gorgeous mugs in memory of Olympic wrestling, which yesterday was killed as an official sport of the Games by the IOC. We haven't even dried our mascara-laden tears and already a homophobic Russian is blaming us US for the banishing of one of our favorite sports. Kick us and pin us while we're down, why don't you??

It's officially less than a year until the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia kickoff, and already figure skater Johnny Weir is dispensing advice to LGBT athletes hoping to attend. 

The ban on LGBT propaganda that Russia wants to implement nationwide has passed the Duma (lower house) with flying colors. Details follow. 

Tattoos on the butt or near sexual organs are as close to gaydar as the homophobic Russian Defense Ministry can get, apparently. According to the Ministry, tattoos in these regions indicate a person's sexuality, so it will naturally force soldiers to drop trou so that doctors can interpret their tattoos like some sort of inkblot Rorschach test.

A bill to ban "gay propaganda" in Russia will come up for a vote by lawmakers later this month. This national bill will be similar to St. Petersburg's anti-gay propaganda legislation that's currently on the books.
